A question commonly asked by many is what is Pilates?
Initially developed in the early 20th century by Joseph Pilates for soldiers in the First World War, Pilates is a whole body treatment and rehabilitation methodology aimed at strengthening the trunk stabilising muscles, along with the global power muscles to improve posture, strength, pain and stiffness.
Pilates can be a gentle rehabilitation workout aimed at alleviation and prevention of neck, back and joint pain or an intense workout for those looking for overall lean, strong muscle tone and improved flexibility.
